Yiannos Ioannou takes the win! (Honda CRF450).
David Steenson 2nd (Gas Gas Two-Stroke), Phil Airlie 3rd (Gas Gas Two-Stroke).
An Exciting Race with the lead changing four times!
Yiannos took the lead on Lap 1, followed by a group of six riders all within 5 minutes of his time (22”)… Phil in 2nd, Spike 3rd, Jai, Panikos, Ian and Savvas.
Phil took the lead on Lap 2, chased down by the charging Steenson - joint fastest (24”) on Lap 2 with Panikos – followed by Yiannos, Jai, Panikos and Stephen. Fastest Time on Lap 3 (20”) came from Steenson, who took the lead, followed by Phil and Yiannos.
Christos put in the best time on Lap 4 (21”), but Steenson had a disagreement with Section 6, allowing Yiannos to re-take the lead, with Phil in 3rd.
Yiannos put the hammer down on Lap 5 with the joint fastest time with Savvas (20”). Steenson was now 2 minutes behind him, with Phil a minute behind Steenson. Spike delivered his best lap (21”), but just not enough to beat the 2 hour limit.
This left only three riders to fight it out on Lap 6… and they all delivered their best times, even though they must have been knackered! Yiannos won the day whilst delivering the Overall Fastest Lap of 19”! Steenson came home 2nd (20”) and Phil a well earned 3rd (21”).
